Wow! What a great time Race #1 turned out to be! It was fantastic to see so many riders, coaches, and parents at Exchequer Bike Park last Saturday; we had twelve teammates who competed and did very well! Congratulations to Bebel Neilson, who made it to the podium with a second place in freshmen, division 2, girls!
I’d like to give a big shout out to all the parents and coaches who stepped up to volunteer at the event, this is such a big deal for our team and league. As you have probably noticed, you don’t just go to the races, you become part of the team who helps make these races so great – thanks again!
Note: Click here for Junior High race results. Filter, at the top, using ‘Modesto’.
Parents: As we prepare for Race #2 at Fort Ord, Monterey, please consider signing up to volunteer at the race, book a hotel room, and encourage your student athlete to make it to practice so that we can continue to work on skill development and conditioning. As I mentioned at our last practice, nutrition and hydration always play a big role in our health – now is the time to ensure that our nutrition and fitness help prepare our student athletes for success during training and our exciting race season ahead!
Practice Schedule: We will continue to meet on Wednesdays and Saturdays for the remainder of the season at the times published on our team calendar. https://modestocomposite.org/calendar/
STRAVA: Are you on STRAVA? Did you know that we have a STRAVA Club set up just for the team and coaches? Look us up and we’ll add you into the club!
Bike Maintenance: With a few months of practice rides behind us and a few months of practice rides and racing ahead, please check out your bikes and equipment on a regular basis, keeping your chain clean and lubricated is one of the easiest and most important maintenance items that you can do!
Thanks again for being a part of this team; coaches, parents, and student athletes. We all are the Modesto Composite Dust Devils!
